Glen Ridge Book Swap Raises Money for Toni’s Kitchen

xx

The annual Glen Ridge Book Swap fundraiser donated $800 to Toni's Kitchen earlier this month. The Book Swap first began seven years ago as a bat mitzvah project by Samantha Toder, with support from her mother Elissa, Kristen O'Neil, and several other community parents. Since the start, local children have donated books they have outgrown to the event and have had the opportunity to swap them for new books at their current reading level. Children who don't donate books can purchase them for $1 (for paperbacks) or for $2 (for hardcover books). Each year, the proceeds from the book sales are donated to Toni's Kitchen. The remaining books are donated to BookSmiles, a local organzation that works to ensure all children have a plentiful supply of their own books.

Thank you to the Book Swap organizers for their hard work and their generous donation to Toni's Kitchen!
