Donating Food

One of the key elements to Toni’s Kitchen community outreach is our Healthy Backpack Program.  In this program, Toni’s Kitchen provides backpacks filled with healthy foods to families with food need.  We deliver backpacks through community partnerships with tutoring programs, early childhood centers, school aftercare programs, and other partners who provide strong programs for families.  As part of our Healthy Backpack Program, Toni's gives more than 400 local children backpacks each week.

While we were giving out backpacks at a local school recently, one 10 year old boy had this to say…
"Thank you so much!  Now I can make food for me and my sister when my mom doesn't have much to eat in the house."

That's the kind of direct and critical impact that our Backpack program has on those in need in our community.

We welcome donations of food for our Backpack Program.

Here are the items we need most for our Healthy Backpack Program:

  • Paper Towels
  • Pasta
  • Pasta Sauce (no glass jars)
  • Tuna
  • Canned Fruit
  • Dried Fruit
  • Canned Vegetables
  • Soup
  • Cereal
  • Oatmeal
  • Nuts
  • Cookies
  • Rice
  • Canned Beans
  • Peanut Butter (no glass jars)

Due to the coronavirus outbreak, we have adjusted our hours.  Until further notice, we are open for donation drop-offs and for food pickups during the following hours:

  • Monday through Friday: 9:00 am to 5:00 pm
  • Saturday: 9:30 am to 1:00 pm
  • Sunday: 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm


You can also order backpack food items through Amazon and have them delivered directly to Toni’s Kitchen.
