A Toni’s Kitchen Guest Story

Recently, a local school called us about a single mother and her son who were about to lose their housing. The mother lost her job but had a new one. However, she missed a rent payment (only one!) and was being evicted within the week.

Toni's Kitchen reached out to another local group who would provide support in a situation such as this. We also met with the mom and her son, set them up with groceries and let

them know they should use us as they get back on their feet.

This small moment of disruption could have led to a serious downward spiral. Instead, they are in their housing, doing well at work and school and have regular grocery support as they rebuild their financial cushion. Mom stopped by with some Hershey's chocolate to thank us!
