Food Rescue Program at Toni’s Kitchen
Toni’s Kitchen has started a new program to help get food to people in need in our community and help the environment at the same. Our “Food Rescue” program picks up from restaurants in our area who have surplus food.
Toni’s gathers the food and brings it back to our kitchen. Once there, we turn the food into hot meals for various local outreach programs, including after school programs and seniors. Rescuing this food keeps it out of landfills, and puts it to good use for those in need. Our “Food Rescue” program is generating about 500 meals a month.
A number of area restaurants have generously donated their surplus food, including Luisa Bakery and Cafe, Raymond’s, Outback Steakhouse in Parsippany, and Longhorn Steakhouse also In Parsippany.
Thanks to all the restaurants who are participating!
