Toni’s Kitchen Distributes Weekend Grocery Bags During Government Shutdown

During the recent government shutdown when SNAP benefits were stopped, Toni's Kitchen had to respond quickly to the urgent need for food for families in our community. During the week of November 3, local school children had a scheduled four-day weekend without their usual school meals and SNAP benefits. On Wednesday, November 5, Toni's distributed 1,900 weekend grocery bags to families to help supplement their meals over that four-day weekend. This was just one example of how Toni's Kitchen stepped up during the shutdown to help families in need. We can only do this work thanks to the incredible support of our community.
